My Story
For nearly three decades, I’ve dedicated my career to helping clients protect what they’ve built through disciplined, fiduciary-based financial management. In 1996, I founded a cutting-edge advisory firm that I later monetized after years of growth and service. Along the way, I became an expert in 401(k) plan management, advanced fiduciary investment practices, and was an early adopter of behavioral finance principles.
I also authored Fiduciary Wisdom (2016), a practical guide for plan sponsors and business leaders on reducing legal risk and improving participant outcomes. Over the years, I’ve spoken at conferences, contributed to industry discussions, and worked alongside business owners navigating some of the most important financial decisions of their lives.
Why I Founded GainsGuard Group
When the time came to monetize my own financial practice, I quickly discovered how complex and emotionally challenging that process can be. I was incredibly fortunate to meet a team of professionals who guided me through a structure that allowed me to monetize my business without paying capital gains tax. That experience was life-changing. It opened my eyes to just how much of a difference the right planning can make not only in how a deal is structured and what the net proceeds are, but in the way those net proceeds profoundly enhance the seller’s long-term economic security and wealth.
I felt a deep conviction that this kind of opportunity should not be left to luck. Business owners deserve access to the same tools, strategies, and guidance that I benefited from. That realization inspired me to create GainsGuard Group.
